Florence’s Story:

Kenya Virtual Tour

I’m Florence – an ambitious, determined and talented lady. I am caring, fun, passionate and outspoken by nature.

I have been a tour leader for almost 7 years now in Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania and South Africa. I love my job as a leader especially because I get to show Africa to the world as a tourist destination and share my knowledge of the rich African cultures, the magnificent wildlife, plants, history and many other attractions in my continent.

Being a tour leader has given me opportunities to interact with travellers from diverse cultures and from different parts of the world. Therefore I get to learn a lot about their way of life, and with that, I get to appreciate the diversity in culture and ways of life. I am also passionate in promoting responsible and sustainable tourism to safeguard culture and protect wildlife for posterity.

Florence’s Tour:

Join me at my family home near Kericho (in the highlands) to see how day-to-day life is on a Kenyan tea plantation.

Internationally renowned for one of the largest exporters of black tea in Kenya, many day-to-day activities in Kericho revolve around the collection and production of our beloved leaves.

My curiosity and eagerness to learn have taken me on a different path – that of an overlanding tour leader; one of a few female tour guides in Kenya. On this one-hour virtual tour,  I will walk you around my village, the family compound and tea plantation. We will learn about the life in a tea village, a rural community and what it is like to be a woman in these surroundings, especially when not following the traditional way of living.

During this experience you can get to know me, see how tourism has impacted my life, ask questions and find out how we harvest and process tea here in Kenya.
